Anna Maria Vamvakidou

Anna-Maria is the creator behind the concept of 2190 Pilates Studio. A Pilates and Aerial instructor as well as a Personal Trainer, she is a lover of nature and sports and a strong advocate of a lifestyle devoted to physical and mental well-being. Her journey into the world of wellness began at a very young age, as she quite literally grew up in her mother’s gym, playing in the studios and imitating the movements of the adults around her.

Although she graduated from the Department of Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia, her true passion for exercise eventually won her over.

She holds multiple certifications in the field of fitness, most notably her Pilates Instructor certification from Balanced Body® Pilates Company and her Personal Trainer certification from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, USA). Over the past ten years, influenced by ballet, contemporary dance, and yoga, she has developed her own unique approach to Pilates. The method she strongly supports is rooted in the philosophy of “Contrology”—the art of controlling movement through balanced strength, mobility, flexibility, and muscular endurance. According to Anna-Maria, the ultimate goal of every form of exercise is the well-being of both mind and body.

Functionality in daily activities and optimal physical performance are at the heart of her philosophy. Most importantly, each person should move in a way that brings them joy, satisfaction, and lasting support for both their physical and mental health.

A defining element of her work as a trainer is the personal attention she gives to each individual, supporting every practitioner in the steps toward achieving their goals on all levels, both body and mind.
